A wanna-be-ophthalmologist highschooler : what kind of courses and volunteering activities?

I haven't heard of the MCAT test... but, I wanted to say you are picking a great field. I have glaucoma, and I have an ophthalmologist that I see every four months. He is also a surgeon. Most ophthalmologists are surgeons, so you might want to volunteer at a hospital, maybe that does laser surgery? It will take you awhile to become an ophthalmologist, but believe me, they are saving my eyesight, it is a much worthwhile trade. I would recommend speaking with your counselor at school, and I promise you they will put you in the right direction... Good LUCK!
