Car theft statistics for '07 Ford Focus?

What are the chances of an '07 Ford Focus getting stolen in the United States? The car was purchased at a dealership, but was stolen. I heard about a person who was convicted of insurance fraud by a jury because a locksmith stated that it's IMPOSSIBLE to steal an '07 Ford Focus due to an "anti-theft system" because according to that locksmith there's NO WAY that the car will start without the "chip" in the original keys.
