Adult Vampire Novels?

I am looking to read WELL WRITTEN adult vampire books, preferably a drama... nothing cheesy and filled with melodramatic horror. PLEASE DO NOT list any young adult books such as Twilight, Blue Blood, Vampire Diaries or any of that preteen stuff. I am only familiar with Anne Rice and Bram Stoker but I would like something beyond that. Anything with a bit of romance, intrigue, drama, some horror but just nothing over the top that it becomes lame. Just something adult and well constructed.
