Becoming an army officer?

Im a currently becoming seriously disillusioned about the tv industry. Enormous number of people trying to get into it and awful wages that people have no problems working for. So have considered going for a commision as a british army officer. Would love to hear from current/past officers. And not from members of the public. Honest answers please.
