I forgot to save on pokemon emerald...?

i went from seafloor cavern to champion wallace(i beat the elite four) and i lost to wallace, after that i had to go to bed, so then i forgot to save.. now I dont feel like playing it anymore... and it sucks cuz i didnt bang my ds on the table to anything, i just forgot to save....
